Sarah Jarvinen
A native of Corvallis, Oregon, Sarah studied piano with Joan Gathercoal and Dr. Rachelle McCabe. She soloed with Corvallis Youth Symphony twice, featured in Saint-Saen’s “Carnival of the Animals” and Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”. Sarah received her Bachelor of Music degree from San Francisco Conservatory where she studied composition with Elinor Armer. She remains involved with composition and last year tied for 1st place in the 1st Annual Composers Competition at Portland State, and her piece “Caprice” was performed by Portland State’s New Music Ensemble. Sarah studies piano with Dr. Susan Chan and organ with Douglas Schneider.
