Carmen Everingham studies cello performance at Portland State University with Hamilton Cheifetz, performing both in the symphony orchestra and in the new music ensemble. In the past she has performend in several orchestras, including Montana All-State Orchestra (four years), Northwestern Music Festival, String Youth Orchestra of the West (Italian tour), and the Gummersbach Philharmonic (in Germany). Raised in Missoula, Montana, Carmen has always had a profound respect for the natural world and humanity. Her interests include making music and art, backpacking/camping, winter sports, languages, and travelling.  In the future Carmen will be developing communities through local art and music.
